Foundations/Giving
Two foundations can help you make a difference in meeting the health care needs
of our communities.
Donations from generous neighbors like you help the SMDC Foundation and the Miller-Dwan
Foundation offer services to patients and community members as well as purchase
new technologies and organize outreach efforts such as support groups and health
education.
SMDC FOUNDATION
The SMDC Foundation supports the Duluth Clinic,
St. Mary's Medical Center, St. Mary's Hospital of Superior and SMDC-wide programs
or projects. We fund medical research, health education, cutting-edge technology,
innovative equipment and capital improvements. We can take your unique vision for
supporting health care and put it to work in the area you choose. For more information,
contact Chief Development Officer Steve Yorde at (218) 786-8853 or

MILLER-DWAN FOUNDATION
The
Miller-Dwan Foundation
exists to improve, support,
and advance health care efforts throughout the region with a focus on the work of
SMDC Medical Center, formerly Miller-Dwan Medical Center, as well as Polinsky Medical
Rehabilitation Center and the Solvay Hospice House. We created the Caring Ways Cancer
Resource Center in the Duluth Clinic and also support numerous community nonprofit
organizations. Since its inception in 1973, the Miller-Dwan Foundation has provided
more than $14 million to support healthcare projects at SMDC Medical Center (formerly
Miller-Dwan Medical Center), Polinsky Medical Rehabilitation Center, and more than
50 other community nonprofit organizations.
